Awesome Indies - 1st Annual Film Festival for Children + Youth
May8-11
Take a field trip around the world! Awesome Indies is about adding flavour, variety and worldliness into the average movie-going experience for local young people. Presented by World-Inter-Action Mondiale, Awesome Indies is Ottawa’s first annual film festival for children and youth between the ages of 6-18. Offering 15 films over four days, the festival will take audiences on a tour of seven different countries, including Germany, Finland, Morocco, Senegal and France. Also featuring a number of award-winning independent films from Canada and the U.S., Awesome Indies offers kids a rare glimpse into the non-commercial side of film.

Canadian Tulip Festival

- Commissioners Park at Dow's Lake showcases 300,000 tulips in cascading beds with school bands and choirs performing throughout the festival, artists, buskers and a boutique.
- Major’s Hill Park has the International Pavilion with free events for children every day plus music, artists and buskers. The new Tulip Festival Mirror Tent is open daily for lunch, dinner and snacks.
