Your wedding ring is probably the one piece of jewellery that you will wear
almost constantly. A lot of thought and consideration should be given to this
important and meaningful symbol.
We sell hundreds of wedding bands each year so here are some helpful hints
for choosing and caring for them.
 SHOP
EARLY
Start looking at different styles and metal combinations at least 2 months
in advance of your wedding date. This will give you an opportunity to try on
different designs before making your final choice. Davidson's carries a large
selection of ladies and gentleman's wedding rings and browsers are always welcome!
Bear in mind that custom designed pieces and engraving may take more time to
complete.
STYLE SAVVY
Decide if you are interested in yellow, white or a combination of both colours
of gold for your bands. Simple gold bands start at $140; plain platinum bands
start at $1000.
Consider your lifestyle when choosing your band.. If you are an active person,
involved in sports or hands-on work activities-avoid bulky or intricate designs
and opt for one which is low profile. Comfort fit styles which are rounded inside
are an extremely popular choice.
If you are searching for a band to match your engagement ring some of our designers
offer complimentary choices which can be ordered. Otherwise your band can be
sketched by our designer and created to your exact specifications.
 KEEP IT CLEAN
For rings with no stones, simply wipe with a soft, lint free cloth. You can
also use a liquid jewellery cleaner and your band and any stones can be brushed
with a soft toothbrush, rinsed and dried with a cloth.
All metals are vulnerable, even platinum. Your life will leave character marks
on your wedding band but avoid wearing it when doing heavy work or playing sports.
Never expose your jewellery to concentrated chlorine, either in a swimming pool
or in household cleaners which can cause pitting or discoloration. Nicks and
scratches are most obvious on matte finishes and most easily affect platinum,
which is softer than gold on the surface but more durable overall. Fortunately
your jeweller can restore the finish with ease and minimal expense.
Follow these simple steps and you should enjoy your wedding band for countless
anniversaries to come!
