Winterlude is here! From January 29 to February 15, 2016, Canada’s Capital Region hosts Winterlude, Capital’s Winter Celebration. Three fun-filled weeks of excitement and activity await the whole family! From spectacular ice carvings to an amazing playground made of snow, Winterlude is a great way to take in the best of our Canadian winter.

Metro invites you from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to the Metro Ice Café to receive a Volunteer Thanking Pin and grab a snack. See you there!


Winterlude Sub-zero DJ Nights

Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13, 7:30 p.m.

Come and warm up to the electrifying rhythms of young Canadian artists. The energetic vibe begins at 7:30 p.m. at Confederation Park! Come see Hilotrons this Friday February 12th and Whitehorse this Saturday February 13th.


Move It! With the Ottawa Redblacks Cheerleading and Dance Team Saturday and Sunday, February 13 and 14, noon and 3 p.m.

Enjoy the choreographed performances on the main stage. You’ll even get to try a few steps or movements.


Ice Sculptures

Open daily, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on February 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Discover a world of art and ice. Come admire ice-carving masterpieces created to celebrate the century of Innovation from the Canada’s National Research Council (NRC), a beautiful ice-carving of the stag beetle from the Canadian Museum of Nature, a sculpture from the European Union Delegation to Canada and much more.

Open daily, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on February 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
