Walk Now for Autism Speaks Canada
The New 1053 KISS FM is proud to support Ottawa’s inaugural Walk Now for Autism Speaks Canada – a free event for families affected with autism spectrum disorders, to help raise awareness and funds for community grants and research.
Walk Distance: 3 km
Registration Opens: 8:30 am
Official Start: 9:45 am
Grand Club Walkers: Proceed to the Grand Club VIP tent for registration. Please make sure to submit your donations in your pledge envelope. Remember to include all offline donations that you have collected (cash and cheques). Ensure that your envelope is clearly labeled with your name.
Team and Individual Walkers: Proceed to the main Registration Tent to submit your donations in your pledge envelope. Remember to include all offline donations that you have collected (cash and cheques). Ensure that your envelope is clearly labeled with your name and team name (if part of a team) to ensure that you and your team a receive recognition for all donations collected.
ENTERTAINMENT Every event site will have mascots such as Geoffrey the Giraffe from our national sponsors Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us, play zones, face painters, food and refreshments, performers and more. Arrive early to give yourself lots of time to enjoy these activities!
RESOURCE FAIR Be sure to visit the resource fair tents to learn more about the services and programs that are available in your community.
WALK START/POST-WALK The Walk Now for Autism Speaks Canada event will commence with the opening ceremonies. All participants are invited to the stage for fun and inspiring stories, great speakers and the ribbon cutting. After the walk, there will be plenty of children’s activities to enjoy.
