The National Capital Commission presents Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays in Canada’s Capital Region – over 50 kilometers of scenic parkways in the heart of the Capital and Gatineau Park are closed to motorized traffic and reserved for cyclists, in-line skaters, runners and walkers.

Parkways Reserved for Alcatel-Lucent Sunday Bikedays

In Ottawa: 9am to 1pm

  • Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (5.5 kilometres)
  • Colonel By Drive (7.6 kilometres)
  • Rockcliffe Parkway (8.4 kilometres)

In Gatineau Park: 6am to 11am — 27 kilometres for cyclists who enjoy steep hills!

  • Gatineau Parkway
  • Champlain Parkway
  • Fortune Lake Parkway

6am to 1pm — 3.5 kilometres north of Meech Lake Road (parking lot P8). This section is ideal for families with young children.

Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! is Canada’s most amazing street hockey tournament and outdoor hockey festival, and this summer, it is coming to a city near you!

 

Each event involves closing over 1km of street, and involves the operation of 20 to 50 separate “street rinks” with games running on each rink at all times throughout an entire weekend!

 

Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! tournaments feature hundreds of teams and thousands of participants and include separate divisions for both genders, all skill levels, and all ages.

 

Each player in the event receives a commemorative Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! t-shirt and an assortment of neat items from national and local sponsors.
